Learn more about volunteering with Unique Kidz and Co.
What inspired you to start volunteering with Unique Kidz and Co?
Ryan is a unique kid who lives in my cul-de-sac and I’ve always tried to do what I can for him and the other organizations he’s been involved in. Ryan now comes to Unique Kidz and Co’s Kidz Club, so I’ve decided to do what I can for them.
What are some of the most rewarding aspects of volunteering for you personally?
I feel that everyone needs help at some time in their life. Some need more help than others. My volunteering indirectly helps the young people of Unique Kidz and Co, as well as the staff and the parents. And just to hear those “thankyous” I know it’s from the heart, and you can’t put a price on that. It’s amazing.
What has been your volunteering highlight so far?
As much as I love the born survivor events, I think the summer and Christmas fairs have been my highlight. I get to see and communicate and help the young people themselves.
What’s next for you and your involvement with Unique Kidz and Co?
Up next is Born Survivor Gisburn. I have managed to convince 7 or 8 others to take on the course with me so potentially raising over £800. But I’m sure Unique Kidz and Co will find something for me to do before September.
What would you say to someone who is considering volunteering with Unique Kidz and Co?
Don’t let anything stop you. There is nothing more rewarding in life than helping someone that physically or mentally can’t do something. As much or as little help is always appreciated, one day you might need that help.
