Staff Training Day – 2nd September 2024

At Unique Kidz and Co, we pride ourselves on creating a nurturing and inclusive environment for the young people that come to our services. This mission begins with our dedicated staff. On the 2nd of September, the team gathered for a productive Staff Training Day. The team enriched their skills and shared insights, ensuring we continue to provide exceptional care and support.

Funding and Structure Update

Head of Fundraising, Jordan, and Head of Finance, Hannah, shared updates to start the day. Jordan discussed the funding plans for the new development and expansion plans. Hannah shared an update on the team structure and announced some of our new vacancies for people to join our team.

Safeguarding Updates and Responsibilities

Janet, our Quality Improvement Lead, conducted a session on safeguarding updates. She highlighted safeguarding policies, shared practical tips, and emphasized that child protection is the whole team’s responsibility.

Behaviour Management and De-escalation Workshop

4Ever Unique Manager, Sally, shared strategies for handling challenging behaviours, specialized for working with the children and young adults who come to Unique Kidz. Role-playing and group discussions helped the team gain confidence in handling situations calmly and professionally.

Staff engaged in group discussions to plan diverse and inclusive activities for the upcoming Autumn season. Focussing on transitions between services, reviewed feedback from the Summer Holiday Clubs to improve future experiences and ensure quality care and activities for the young people.

Training Day Conclusion

We pride ourselves on having a highly trained team of staff with different experiences. The training day helped us regroup after a busy summer holiday, keep in touch with the latest techniques and continue to plan fantastic activities that all the young people can enjoy.
