What inspired you to start volunteering with Unique Kidz and Co?
I first came across Unique Kidz and Co through my work in social sustainability. I was very impressed by the work the charity does and the difference they make to the lives of not just the young people but their family. I was also fascinated by how the charity got started and how much they have evolved. I continued to volunteer with Unique Kidz outside of work because I believe in the work they are doing.
What are some of the most rewarding aspects of volunteering for you personally?
I enjoy volunteering because it helps to ‘ground’ me. It is a way to give back and hopefully inspire others to do the same.
What has been your volunteering highlight so far?
Despite being a hard day’s work, I thoroughly enjoyed helping with the fund-raising activity during the Born Survivor competition.
What’s next for you and your involvement with Unique Kidz and Co?
Despite not being local I will always try my best to support Unique Kidz and Co and will always advocate for them.
What would you say to someone who is considering volunteering with Unique Kidz and Co?
Go for it! We all have busy lives but charities like Unique Kidz cannot deliver the meaningful and much needed support unless we all step in and help.
